These are the photos from the Burberry Prorsum show.
I had an amazing time. The show was as incredible as I expected it
to be, it had a really natural feel and lots of earthy colours
like mustard and plum. Every year Burberry deliver classic,
sophisticated and beautiful British designs and this year was no
less amazing. But, there was something different about the
collection this time round that both surprised and impressed me.
For Autumn/Winter 2012, Christopher Bailey took a bit of a risk
with playful cartoon and sequin owls and foxes in jumpers; adopting a more
light-hearted approach for a brand famous for its elegance and
sophistication. However, contrasting these playful features were
punkish studs on gloves, bags and umbrellas; adding a hard and
rebellious edge to balance out the softer elements. These
surprising features worked perfectly with the elegant florals,
earthy and jewel tones, classic shapes and luxurious finishes,
creating an overall feel that was as amazing as ever and proved
just how versatile the designer and the brand really are.
Apart from being amazed by the new collection, I had so much fun at the show, sipping champagne and chatting with all the VIP (Alexa Chung, Mario Testino, Kate Bosworth, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Poppy Delevign and the french actress Clémence Poésy). The Burberry show is and was definitely one of the best I’ve ever seen!
