VOGUE 100: A CENTURY OF STYLE.

THE PROJECT 

Who, What, Where, When, Why, How?

It's fashion season, yet again! An exciting time of the year was made even more interesting as I had

 the lovely opportunity to design for the Vogue100 exhibition, at the National Portrait Gallery in

 London. I was asked to select two covers and develop collections based on each of the covers by

 Vogue. The end product was a 7 piece lip collection, based on a 1960's cover. Can't you imagine

 Eddie Sedgwick wearing the drop earrings? I can, very fabulous, very Kylie Jenner lips a la 60's!

 The seven pieces includes necklaces, ring, studs, drop earrings and a bracelet.

THE INSPIRATION AND DESIGN 

This is one of the two covers I considered, but did not opt for, as the NPG felt that the lip

 collection was really rocking. It's always such fun to work with Vogue, and 

especially to celebrate their 100 years. You'd never know by its cover that it's

 100 years, I guess botox really does work... 

THE LAUNCH PARTY

This was the launch of the exhibition, there we're tons of celebrities and press personalities.

 It's so humbling to have such great talents interested in my pieces, thanks guys! :)  

I am so happy and honored to get to work on this project, 

I truly think the National Portrait Gallery is one of the best museums in the world, 

and the project has truly been a pleasure!

It's time to party! Let's dance!

Summer is on the verge of breaking out, and we all need a break from the very long winter we've had this year (but then again, every winter is the longest winter...) I spent 5 days in Palma de Mallorca with my friend Maria who owns Studio Sentmenat ; tanning, enjoying cocktails, reading books, and eating good sea-food. You know, vacationy things. 

The reason I went there was because Pacha Mallorca had its' opening party. I went with Clara Courel, Hugo Portuondo, and some other friends, together we danced all night, the music was great and the atmosphere was on point!

El verano está a la vuelta de la esquina y todos necesitamos un descanso del largo invierno (y todos los años nos parece que ha sido el invierno más largo de la historia…) Os escribo después de haber pasado cinco días súper divertidos en Palma de Mallorca con mi amiga María, propietaria de la agencia de comunicación Studio Sentmenat; tomando el sol en la playa, leyendo, disfrutando de deliciosos cócteles en la piscina, y la mejor comida con amigos. Típicas cosas que se hacen en vacaciones.

El motivo de mi viaje fue asistir a la ‘opening party’ de Pacha Mallorca. Fui con Clara Courel, Hugo Portuondo, y otros amigos y me dediqué a bailar toda la noche en el funky room, la música era genial y el ambiente inmejorable. Aquí tenéis algunas fotos de mi viaje.

The Day After: what better place to spend hungover than by the pool? 

MUST WATCH DOCUMENTARY OF THE WEEK.

On May 25th,the 75 year old creator of the Pacha clubs Ricardo Urgell launched a documentary on the successful franchise. The documentary covered the whole history of Pacha. The first club was opened in 1967 in Sitges outside Barcelona, followed by a second club in 1973, known as Pacha Ibiza. It was fun to watch the documentary because I remember some of the parties and people the documentary included. Pacha was where everyone went, all the time, in Madrid, then in Ibiza, and I have so many great memories from it!

It was such an interesting documentary, I recommend watching it!- (especially during a hungover afternoon after an amazing night at Pacha…)

El pasado 25 de mayo, a sus 75 años, el creador de Pacha Ricardo Urgell estrenaba un documental sobre su exitosa carrera. En el documental podemos descubrir toda la historia de la discoteca Pacha. El primer club se abrió en 1967 en Sitges, a las afueras de Barcelona, seguido en 1973 por el mítico Pacha Ibiza. Me encanto ver el documental, porque recuerdo algunas de las fiestas y personas que salen en él. Pacha era el lugar donde todo el mundo iba en Madrid y luego en Ibiza, tengo grandes recuerdos de esos momentos...Todo un clásico,os lo recomiendo.

"Padded" Collection 

Hold your helmet, you're in for a he** of a ride! 

Trade Biker chick for biker chic! 

Imagine a biker couple... I bet you’re picturing a middle-aged, chubby rude man, and a woman as glamorous and lean as a model. Whether the former is true, I have no idea, but I did see the latter at Maya Hansen’s runway show! The effortlessly cool attitude that comes with anything remotely motorcycle related, was experienced during Maya Hansen’s “Padded” collection, featuring my jewellery. The models trotted around with Steve Madden knee high – very badass – plateau leather boots.

My designs featured motorcycle inspired earrings and necklaces of wheels, highways, gloves and helmets, all in the prevailing colours of the fashion show, red, gold, black and grey. Before the show Maya and I organised the my jewellery with her pieces, and models. My FAVOURITE LOOK by far is my red glove earrings with the black and white Maya Hansen creating and the low Steve Madden knee high boots. The proportional symmetry really works, and the red earrings tie the outfit together.

The show was concluded with Maya riding in (as a biker chick would) at the back of a motorcycle onto the runway looking fabulous. Whether the man driving it was middle aged or chubby, or rude – I cannot recall, but it was a cool show!

Giggles with Rossy!

Good company and a great show with Maya Hansen SS15

Yesterday I could be found front row of Maya Hansesn's show (featuring my jewellery for the collaboration) during Madrid Fashion Week, where I was lucky enough to sit next to actress and muse of Jean-Paul Gaultier, the one and only Rossy de Palma, and yes ,  it was very real, fun and better than I had ever dared imagine. 

Rossy’s energy and charisma is undeniably contagious. Her strong character becomes more loveable as you see her down to earth attitude towards life, and her fabulous outfit. Continuously encouraging Maya and I by smiling, laughing and clapping vivaciously - she was the perfect front row buddy. It was like we’d been best friends forever, telling me she already follows me on social media (still can't believe it! :) ),  discussing jewelry (she liked my helmet earrings!) and giggling throughout the exciting show. Other notable front row fashionistas present front and centre, were Bibiana Fernandez (Bibi Andersen) who was as CHARMING as one can be, and the beauuutiful TV presenter, Adriana Abenia.

I also had the pleasure of doing a few interviews for television and magazines, as well as by blogger Mayte de la Iglesia, with the new "Because I am worth it" L’Oreal video. It was a fantastic night eventful enough to last me for a very long time, maybe even a lifetime.

Ayer tuve la suerte de sentarme en primera fila en el desfile de Maya Hansen y ver mis joyas desfilar una vez más por la pasarela Mercedes Benz Madrid Fashion Week, y en la más divertida compañía, me sente junto a la increíble actriz y musa de Jean -Paul Gaultier , la única e inigualable Rossy de Palma!

Rossy tiene una energía y un carisma especial, un fuerte carácter y una actitud real y natural hacia la vida.  Fue la perfecta compañera de front row. Estuvo continuamente apoyando a  Maya y a mi en le desfile, con una sonrisa  y aplaudiendo con vitalidad - Incluso me llego a decir que ya me seguía en redes sociales ,y que le encantaban los pendientes de casco que llevaba para el desfile…Gracias Rossy !  

Por el lado derecho mis otros compañeros de primera fila fueron Bibiana Fernández ( Bibi Andersen ) que es lo más encantadora del mundo y que desde aquí le doy las gracias por la foto que me ha dedicado en su instagram (@thedevilisawoman) y la presentadora de televisión y guapísima Adriana Abenia.

También tuve el placer de hacer algunas entrevistas para la televisión y revistas , así como el reto para la  blogger Mayte de la Iglesia, con sus vídeos para  L' Oreal. 

Os dejo algunas fotos pero en el próximo post os enseñaré más del desfile y de backstage. 
Llevaba un vestido de encaje de American Apparel, botines de Chanel y los pendientes casco que fueron una de las piezas exhibidas en el desfile y que ya están a la venta en la web.

TIPS

Fashion Shows are a lot like WAR. You need a survival kit, and a butt-load of courage to manage. Your bag is a great tool to survive in the war of Fashion. You can use your bag to store metaphorical guns, and use the bag itself as a weapon, and whack people with it, like old ladies in movies! I feel like it's something i'd be good at. Anyways, here are some TIPS on how to use your bag efficiently during a fashion event:

1. Camouflage is KEY, wear a scarf, wrap it around your entire body like a mummy to disappear. You're also sure to stay warm. 
2. If you really want to frighten people in a soldier-like manner, then don't eat . What I’m saying is, bring an apple or a snack bar.
3. War makes soldiers look sad and old, not a great look. Bring makeup to avoid looking like a soldier. I use Chanel's lipstick and eyeliner for a clean fresh “I-woke-up-like-this“ look. 
4. Keep moisturised with Chanel's beauty mist and nourishing balm. Maybe Chanel should sponsor wars, god knows everyone would look nicer. Chanel uniforms, anyone?   
5. A PEN is an underestimated weapon, you can fake stamps to get into exclusive parties, get phone numbers, and draw moutsaches on asleep friends. Now, this is true artillery. 
6. Document your journey. Bring your iPAD AND CHARGER and blind people with flashes, but be nice with what you post, we're not savages. 
7. Keep your eye on the future, for after the battle. Is there going to be a party? Yes? So bring accessories (like the ones from my NEW COLLECTION) in your bag.

MY YSL WEEKEND

YSL LOVES YOUR LIPS 

London, dancing and Cara Delevingne

The 19th of January I traveled on an YSL trip for for the event “YSL LOVES YOUR LIPS” as one of the spanish influencers to represent the brand in London. 

I lodged in a fabulous hotel called the Ham Yard in Soho, which just like the neighborhood itself, full of culture, as the beautiful décor was covered in all types of marvelous artistic expressions ( my favorite ! ) . Naturally the first thing I did was taking photos,and nap in the beautiful room they put up for me. :)

The event took place in Shoreditch, East London and touches ground with some of the chicest bohemian looking individuals you’ll ever meet. I just moved from the area so going back I felt like my East-Londoner self again.

The venue resembled a warehouse club from the 70's, very Andy Warhol. It was full of beautiful and interesting individuals, one of them, my “plus one” and best friend Inga, who lives there. It was so nice to touch base with all my old friends, it's like they say, the people make the place!

They began the events presentation by filming Cara Delevingne exiting her car and walking into the building, and up on the stage. She looked a little uneasy with everyone watching her, but then again, who likes public speaking, I know I don't. ( really...don't …)  I had the pleasure of meeting the Delevingne sisters in person. Poppy I met a few times, but this was my first interaction with Cara. The first meet did not disappoint, she was full of positive energy, which was enhanced upon her capturing my scarf. The fox fur isn’t only fashionable; it’s also Cara bait, who knew? My scarf was a big hit. As I mingled it was passed around, making them feel fabulous and they looked it, too. 

Amongst these were my friends Henry Conway, fashion writer and the Topman Ambassador, photographer Alistair Grant, model Edie Campbell and Bip Ling, the DJ, and blogger. 

I had the pleasure of remaining most of the party in the VIP section, and followed the exciting event by going to the exclusive club Chiltern Firehouse, where you’ll find the most interesting A-lister’s, it’s quite the show!

 My first day ended at 6 am, proving YSL a hell of a party planner.

The Second day in London, I went to the YSL Beauty presentation in Knighstbridge, and a make-up artist gave me the YSL look, using the products they had displayed the night before. It removed all traces of the previous night, and that was essential. :) 

I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to my host, Yves Saint Laurent Beauty whom provided for an unforgettable weekend filled with bohemians, celebrities, dancing, and of course, make-up!

I spilled champagne and danced with Cara Delevingne.

My favorite product was the  CC cream by YSL, which visibly corrects 

the appearance of skin tone irregularities immediately 

and all the new metallic gradient eye palette inspired by the 60's disco nights.
